ANRPC Releases Natural Rubber Trends & Statistics, October 2017
Nov 07, 2017
The
Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries
releases the “
Natural Rubber Trends & Statistics
” for October 2017.
From Secretary-General's Desk
10th ANRPC Annual Rubber Conference was successfully organised and well received. About 270 local and overseas participants attended the conference which focus on supply-chain efficiency. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Government of Socialist Republic of Vietnam for hosting the Conference, 3rd ANRPC Public – Private Meet and the other ANRPC meetings in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
I would also like to announce that Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has joined ANRPC as new Member Government. With the accession of Bangladesh, the membership of ANRPC has grown to 12. Bangladesh produces about 20,000 tonnes of NR annually.
In the first ten months of 2017, the world supply of natural rubber (NR) grew by 5.0%, amounted to 10.429 million tonnes while world demand of NR recorded at 10.730 million tonnes, up 1.1% on a year-on-year basis. Both NR rubber prices in physical markets and futures markets have been volatile despite to an upward trend in price of crude oil during the month of October 2017.
With the objective of providing updated trends and emerging developments in natural rubber sector, ANRPC provides through this issue of
Natural Rubber Trends and Statistics
, the figures of supply and demand for NR during the period up to October 2017 and the anticipated monthly figures for the year 2017, covering all ANRPC Member Countries.
Before I conclude, I place on record sincere gratitude of the ANRPC to its statistical correspondents in Member Governments for timely making available required data and forecasts. I also thank all esteemed subscribers of the publication for the continued support.
Thank you.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Bich
Secretary-General
