ANRPC Releases Natural Rubber Trends & Statistics November 2017

Dec 14, 2017
The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) releases the “Natural Rubber Trends & Statistics” for November 2017.

From Secretary-General's Desk

During the first eleven months of 2017, the world supply of natural rubber (NR) accounted 11.676 million tonnes, up 4.7% on a year-on-year basis, while world demand of NR amounted to 11.804 million tonnes, up 1.2% on a year-on-year basis. NR prices in physical markets have demonstrated a flat trend in price during the month of November 2017 despite the uptrend in crude oil prices.

The typhoon Damrey has caused damage to about 40,000 ha of crops in Central and Southern part of Vietnam, including rubber plantation. In relation to this natural disaster, it also hit the major NR producing region, southern Thai with flash floods and rain water runoff in several areas. A number of provinces have declared disaster zones in various districts from its news releases.

With the objective of providing updated trends and emerging developments in natural rubber sector, ANRPC provides through this issue of Natural Rubber Trends and Statistics, the figures of supply and demand for NR during the period up to November 2017 and the anticipated monthly figures for the year 2017, covering all ANRPC Member Countries.

Before I conclude, I place on record sincere gratitude of the ANRPC to its statistical correspondents in Member Governments for timely making available required data and forecasts. I also thank all esteemed subscribers of the publication for the continued support.

Thank you.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Bich
