ANRPC Releases Natural Rubber Trends & Statistics, November 2018

The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) is happy to release the Natural Rubber Trends & Statistics, November 2018.

During the first eleven months of 2018, the world demand of natural rubber (NR) observed a growth at 5.0%, amounting to 12.852 million tonnes, from 12.243 million tonnes during the same period last year. While, the world production accounted 12.816 million tonnes, an increase of 5.4% from 12.156 million tonnes during the same reference period.
Crude oil market has been bearish and closed around US$60 per barrel in November 2018. Despite similar observation also found in NR market, the market has been volatile over the external factors such as trade tension between China and the United States (US), the higher interest rates by 25 basis point and the development of regional rubber futures markets. E.g. although, price of SMR-20 fell to 10-month low in 3rd week of November 2018, but the price closed slightly higher around US$1.23 per kg over the last week in November 2018.
