PRESS RELEASE

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Bich, nominee of the Government of Socialist Republic of Vietnam, will assume office of Secretary General of ANRPC on 1 December 2016 for a three-year term. Dr. Bich will take over charge, at ANRPC Secretariat in Kuala Lumpur, from Ms. Sheela Thomas of India who has been occupying the position from 4 September 2014. 

Dr. Bich has been in rubber industry for the past thirty years as a scientist specialised in pollution control and waste water treatment in natural rubber processing. As a researcher associated with the Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam since 1988, he has held various positions such as Senior Researcher, Head of Rubber Processing & Pollution Control Division, Director of Rubber Technology Centre and Deputy Director of Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam. 

After graduation in mechanical engineering, he did Masters in Waste Water Treatment from University Putra Malaysia and Ph.D in Water & Waste Water Treatment from Vietnam National University. Dr. Bich has to his credit 4 patents and 20 published research papers.
