ANRPC Releases Natural Rubber Trends & Statistics, November 2016

Dec 07, 2016
The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) is happy to release its Natural Rubber Trends & Statistics, November 2016.

Based on figures covering the period up to November 2016, total supply of natural rubber from ANRPC member countries is expecting a marginal growth at 0.1% to 11.08 million tonnes during 2016 compared to previous year. However, consumption of natural rubber in ANRPC member countries which accounts for 65% of the global demand, is anticipating growth at 4.1% to 8.024 million tonnes during 2016 against the previous year.   In sum, global natural rubber industry is currently driven by favourable supply-demand fundamentals.

Natural rubber prices gained its uptrend momentum from previous month and had further improved during November 2016 across all major physical markets. The uptrend could be supported by favourable supply-demand fundamentals, weak Japanese yen, rebound in crude oil price and improved economic outlook in U.S.

This issue of Natural Rubber Trends and Statistics presents supply and demand for natural rubber during the period up to November 2016 and anticipated figures of the year 2016 covering all ANRPC member countries.  It also gives a closer picture of current developments in natural rubber market and a short-term outlook.

Before concluding, I extend gratitude to esteemed users for feedback being received and to statistical correspondents in member governments for the continued support and cooperation to my predecessor, Madam Sheela Thomas throughout her tenure in ANRPC.

Thanking you.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Bich
