Dr. Suttipong Angthong

Secretary-General, ANRPC

Welcome to the official platform of the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC).

Natural rubber (NR) remains an irreplaceable strategic resource. From its foundational role in global transportation and the tire industry - which continues to account for the majority of global consumption - to its critical applications in aerospace, green construction, and advanced healthcare, NR is a cornerstone of the modern industrial world.

While the global economy faces ongoing complexities, we are witnessing a structural shift in demand. The rapid acceleration of the Electric Vehicle (EV) ecosystem and the rise of "Green Cities" are no longer future projections; they are our current reality. These sectors demand more than just high-quality rubber - they demand transparent and ethical supply chains.

As we move further into the 2026–2028 period, the ANRPC is committed to ensuring that our member countries, who represent around 80% of global production, are not just participants in this transition, but leaders of it.

The ANRPC serves as the premier inter-governmental platform for the world’s leading rubber-producing nations: Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. This collective footprint provides us with a unique and powerful mandate to shape the future of the industry. Our greatest asset is the unmatched technical expertise housed within the rubber research institutes and governmental agencies of our 13 members.

As Secretary-General, my mission is to harness this collective intelligence to ensure our industry remains resilient. Our strategic focus will be on:

1. Expert-Led Capacity Building

We are committed to facilitating the exchange of scientific knowledge and best practices among our member states. By leveraging the expertise of our national researchers and scientists, we empower all members to enhance productivity and adopt climate-smart agriculture.

2. Harmonized Sustainability Standards

In an era of increasing environmental regulations, such as the EUDR (European Union Deforestation Regulation), the ANRPC serves as the central forum for member governments to align their policies. We work to ensure that sustainability remains a tool for progress that benefits both the environment and the livelihoods of our smallholders.

3. Strategic Market Intelligence

Through the diligent data contribution of our member governments, we provide the global community with authoritative insights that foster market transparency and stability.

At the heart of our inter-governmental cooperation is the smallholder farmer. While we operate at the policy level, our goal is practical: to ensure that the technical advancements and policy frameworks developed by our member governments translate into better welfare, fairer market access, and long-term prosperity for the millions of families who sustain this industry.

The ANRPC is the bridge between production and global demand. We welcome open dialogue and collaboration with all stakeholders who share our vision of a sustainable, expert-driven, and equitable natural rubber value chain.

Thank you for your interest and your partnership in our shared mission.

Dr. Suttipong Angthong

Secretary-General, ANRPC

Notes

1.    ANRPC’s services include the gathering of detailed data from Member Governments, the results of which are generally made available in the form of regular reports on a subscription basis. We are, however, pleased to offer selected 2007-2011 reports for free via the Publication Library found on our Website.

2.    We also offer access to a physical library including important reference materials and rubber industry reports dating from the Association’s 1970 inception to today. We are proud to offer access to this library (situated in our Kuala Lumpur office) to researchers and academics upon written request with approval by the Secretary General.
