In August, the market for natural rubber (NR) was skeptical due to ongoing geopolitical tensions and the recent increase in interest rates by the Federal Reserve. During the reference period, global production of NR increased by 4.2% on an annual basis.

The global production of NR witnessed a 2.1% growth amounting close to 1.3 million tons, while global demand of NR posted a relatively faster growth at 3.2% to 1.3 million tons during the month of July.

The global NR production posted a much slower growth at 1.5%, year-to-year, amounting to 896,000 tons in April.

Global production of natural rubber (NR) is estimated to grow by 2.6%, reaching 1.040 million tons, while global demand of NR is reported to recover at a faster pace at 7.3% growth to 1.209 million tons during February 2023.
