Nature of Organization: Statutory government body functioning at the national level, under Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India for the overall development of rubber industry in the country.

Key Function(s):

• Formulating and implementing policies for development of rubber industry in the country

• Undertaking R & D on all aspects of rubber through its research arm, Rubber Research Institute of India (RRII)

• Undertaking technology transfer.  

• Collecting and disseminating official data and information on rubber industry in the country.

• Enforcing statutory regulations on production, processing, trading and consumption of rubber in the country.

• Advising Government of India on all matters related to rubber sector.
