Dollar slides on easing trade tensions, Fed expectations

Bursa Malaysia extended yesterday’s momentum to open higher today, as current stock valuations remain appealing, prompting continued accumulation by local institutions, said Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd equity research vice-president Thong Pak Leng.

Global stocks and the dollar slipped on Thursday as investors sized up a benign US inflation report and the fragile trade truce between Washington and Beijing.

Malaysia has been officially recognised for aligning its sustainability reporting with global standards, said the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC).

The ringgit continues to strengthen against the greenback on Thursday, amid weaker United States (US) economic data, an analyst said.
