Oil prices edged lower on Friday after big falls in the last session.

SINGAPORE: Rubber futures slipped across major exchanges on Wednesday, pressured by concerns over weak automobile sales and intense competition, though persistent weather-related disruptions in top producer Thailand helped limit the downside.

The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar on Friday as the greenback retreated after weaker United States (US) jobs data raised expectations of interest rate cuts.

The dollar stabilised in early Asian trading hours on Thursday after an unexpected drop in US factory-gate prices bolstered expectations the Federal Reserve will cut rates next week and traders awaited US consumer price data due later in the day.

The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar on Wednesday.
