Anwar, Putin to hold talks on bilateral ties, regional issues
The leaders last met in September 2024 on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

Russian president Vladimir Putin is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today, TASS news agency reported.
According to the Kremlin press service, the two leaders will discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation, particularly in politics, trade, and the economy.
They are also expected to outline further steps to strengthen ties between their countries.
Putin and Anwar will also exchange views on pressing international and regional developments.
The two leaders last met in September 2024 on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
Russia and Malaysia share similar positions on various regional and global issues.
Both countries cooperate actively through platforms such as Asean and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Russia and Malaysia have signed 20 agreements on cooperation.
According to Russian ambassador to Malaysia Nail Latypov, bilateral trade reached approximately US$2.5 billion as of the end of 2024.
Russia’s main exports to Malaysia include crude minerals, oil, and chemical products, while Malaysia exports rubber, machinery, and agricultural goods to Russia.
