Brent crude opens week higher as US vows to keep attacking Houthis

Brent crude futures opened the week higher, rising 0.6 per cent in early Asian trade on Monday, after the United States vowed to keep attacking Yemen's Houthis until they end attacks on shipping.
The airstrikes, which the Houthi-run health ministry said killed at least 53 people, are the biggest US military operation in the Middle East since President Donald Trump took office in January. One US official told Reuters the campaign might continue for weeks.
The Houthi attacks on shipping have disrupted global commerce and set the US military off on a costly campaign to intercept missiles and drones.
The Brent crude futures were trading 40 cents higher at US$70.98 at 2208 GMT on Monday.
