Bursa Malaysia opened nearly unchanged on Monday, tracking Wall Street’s subdued performance last Friday as renewed United States protectionist trade policies kept investors on edge.
KUALA LUMPUR:Bursa Malaysia opened nearly unchanged on Monday, tracking Wall Street's subdued performance last Friday as renewed United States protectionist trade policies kept investors on edge.
At 9.23am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) inched up 0.17 of-a-point, or 0.01 per cent, to 1,536.24 from Friday's close of 1,536.07.
The benchmark index had opened 0.10 of-a-point lower at 1,535.97.
Market breadth was positive, with gainers outpacing losers 224 to 200, while 351 counters were unchanged, 1,643 untraded, and nine suspended.
Turnover stood at 242.89 million shares worth RM100.06 million.
