Bursa Malaysia opened higher on Monday, driven by positive sentiment from foreign investor inflows.
At 9.23am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose by 0.33 per cent, adding 5.14 points to reach 1,547.63, compared to its previous close of 1,542.49.
The broader market was also positive, with 332 gainers led 200 losers, and 333 counters remaining unchanged.
Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd said the late buying on the local bourse pushed the FBM KLCI above the 1,540 level, and if this momentum continues, the index could re-test the 1,600 mark soon.
"We are indeed heartened by the return of foreign buying of late which has seen unprecedented outflows since the beginning of 2025.
"As such, we believe the index to trend within the 1,540-1,555 range today," it said.
