KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit further strengthened against the greenback, supported by continued declines in the US Treasury yields.

At 8am, the local currency rose to 4.1295 against the dollar.

Bursa Malaysia's 30-stock index opened marginally higher, lifted by optimism over a possible end of the US government shutdown.

It is likely to trend within the 1,630 and 1,640 range today.

In the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin dropped to RM423,659.

Ethereum traded lower at RM14,244 and Solana stood at RM634.
