Nissan Motor has decided to abandon a plan to build a factory for electric vehicle (EV) batteries in Kitakyushu, southern Japan, only months after announcing the project, the Nikkei business daily reported on Friday.
Nissan officials are due to visit the prefectural government of Fukuoka to report its latest decision, the paper said, without citing the source of its information.
Nissan had announced in January a plan for a lithium iron phosphate battery plant that was to create about 500 jobs.
