SunSirs: China SBR Ex-Factory Prices Reduced by 400 RMB/ton

On April 14, Sinopec lowered its ex-factory prices for Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR) by approximately 400 RMB per ton. The quoted ex-factory price (tax included) for Qilu 1502/1502E now stands at 18,000 RMB/ton.

Sinopec's decision to reduce SBR ex-factory prices by 400 RMB/ton—bringing the rate to 18,000 RMB/ton—reflects either ample market supply or sluggish demand, thereby exerting significant downward pressure on spot market prices. The substantial magnitude of this price cut (approximately 2.2%) likely stems from rising inventory levels or weakening downstream consumption; consequently, the spot market is expected to maintain a weak trajectory in the short term.
