SunSirs: Thailand's Natural Rubber Exports Decline Year-on-Year in First Half

Latest data shows that in the first half of 2026, Thailand's cumulative exports of natural rubber (excluding compound rubber) totaled 1.203 million tonnes, a year-on-year decrease of 13%. Specifically, cumulative exports of Standard Rubber (STR) reached 673,000 tonnes (down 16% year-on-year); Ribbed Smoked Sheets (RSS) exports totaled 192,000 tonnes (down 2%); and latex exports amounted to 329,000 tonnes (down 13%).

As a key global exporter of natural rubber, Thailand saw a 13% year-on-year drop in exports (excluding compound rubber) during the first half of 2026, with declines observed across various categories including Standard Rubber, Ribbed Smoked Sheets, and latex; this contraction in supply has provided support for natural rubber spot prices. Regarding futures, the benchmark natural rubber contract (2609) on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at 16,930 RMB/tonne on July 22, 2026—an increase of 155 RMB/tonne from the previous trading day—with expectations of tightening supply likely to support a firm trend in futures prices.
