SunSirs: Thailand Natural Rubber Raw Material Prices Dip Slightly on July 22

On July 22, prices for natural rubber raw materials in Thai production regions saw a slight decline: Ribbed Smoked Sheets (RSS) were quoted at 90.00 THB/kg (down 0.50 THB/kg); field latex was quoted at 77.00 THB/kg (down 1.00 THB/kg); and cup lump was quoted at 70.20 THB/kg (down 0.30 THB/kg).

Thailand is a major global producer of natural rubber. The recent slight drop in local raw material prices has weakened upstream cost support, exerting downward pressure on domestic natural rubber spot prices. Regarding futures, the benchmark natural rubber contract (2609) on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) closed at 16,815 RMB/tonne on July 21, 2026—a decrease of 185 RMB/tonne from the previous trading day—with open interest falling by 1,502 lots. Given the contract's already weak trend, bearish factors on the raw material side are expected to further suppress futures prices in the short term.
