Gold hits three-week high as Trump widens trade war
Gold prices touched a three-week high on Monday, supported by safe-haven demand after US President Donald Trump threatened to impose a 30 per cent tariff on imports from the European Union and Mexico.
The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar on Monday, lifted by concerns over the United States’ plan to impose tariffs on three major trading partners from Aug 1, 2025.
