JOINT COMMUNIQUÉ OF THE ASSOCIATION OF NATURAL RUBBER PRODUCING COUNTRIES (ANRPC)

In August, the market for natural rubber (NR) was skeptical due to ongoing geopolitical tensions and the recent increase in interest rates by the Federal Reserve. During the reference period, global production of NR increased by 4.2% on an annual basis.

The global production of NR witnessed a 2.1% growth amounting close to 1.3 million tons, while global demand of NR posted a relatively faster growth at 3.2% to 1.3 million tons during the month of July.

The mid-year outlook of the global natural rubber market was balanced and positive.

As the tapping activities resumed, the global output increased by 0.3% in May to 1.006 million tons. Despite sluggish output growth, global NR consumption increased by 3.5% year-on-year to 1.272 million tons.

The global NR production posted a much slower growth at 1.5%, year-to-year, amounting to 896,000 tons in April.
